Rolls-Royce's coachbuilding division Mulliner Park Ward was keeping up
the tradition of producing handbuilt convertibles. To meet European laws
governing the size of exposed components several changes became necessary
including a modified hood and a retractable Flying Lady mascot; obeying
emission legislation in Japan as well as in the United States had resulted
in fuel injection been fitted. A variety of minor alterations (e.g.
aluminium radiator, external oil cooler) rounded up the process of
modernization which was heralded by the new name Rolls-Royce Corniche II.
Cars destined for North America were fitted with driver's airbag but
lacked the anti lock brakes fitted on cars supplied in the UK, Europe and
the Middle East.

8 cylinder 90 degree V-configuration, aluminium-silicon alloy cylinder
block with cast iron wet cylinder liners; bore x stroke 104.14 x 99.06 mm
(4.1 x 3.9 in), capacity 6,750 cc, aluminium alloy cylinder heads; Bosch K
Jetronic fuel injection standard (from 1990 Bosch K Motronic fuel
injection and ignitions control system standard); 3-speed automatic
gearbox; hypoid bevel final drive; independent suspension with coil
springs front and rear, hydraulic self-leveling height control rear;
ventilated disc brakes front, plain discs rear, (Europe and Middle East
supplied with anti-locking device); wheelbase 3,061 mm (120.5 in); tyres
235/70VR x 15

Rolls-Royce
Corniche II, 1989, #KCX24964, Mulliner Park Ward Drophead Coupe. An
improved engine, rationalised front sub-frame and refined steering rack
were important technical modifications on the R-R Corniche II. On entering
the car it was noted that the inner armrests were replaced by a centre box
armrest.
